News SEO Checker

Free, no signup. Check Article markup, date consistency, and author schema in raw HTML. News sitemap freshness and Google News inclusion remain outside the report.

Checks run from our server; we fetch the URL you enter and don't keep the results. Anonymous run-level outcome counters may be used for aggregate research; URLs, domains, IPs, and identifiers are never included, and no statistic is released below 100 runs.

Sample report Deterministic detector example

HTML with "@type":"NewsArticle", "datePublished":"2026-07-12", an author property, and visible “Published July 12, 2026” returns:

Article schema: NewsArticle/Article schema found.

Date honesty: Schema date 2026-07-12; visible date July 12, 2026.

Author entity: Schema author found.

How to use it

  1. Enter one public article URL and select Audit.
  2. Check whether Article markup and an author property were visible in fetched HTML.
  3. Compare the date-honesty summary with the actual byline and timestamps.
  4. Validate the complete structured data and news sitemap separately before publication.

What the results mean

  • Article schema — raw markup contains NewsArticle or Article.
  • Date honesty — the schema and visible dates contain the same detected year; a pass is not full timestamp validation.
  • Author entity — an author key appears in schema.
  • Could not triangulate — one or both simple date patterns were unavailable.

How it works

The page fetches public raw HTML through the protected endpoint. Deterministic regular-expression detectors inspect serialized markup for Article type, datePublished, and author, and body text for a visible Published or Updated month-day-year date. Only the detected years are compared.

Features

  • Three independent page-level findings.
  • NewsArticle and general Article recognition.
  • Visible-versus-schema year comparison.
  • Explicit unavailable state when dates cannot be compared.

Limitations

The checker does not render JavaScript, parse every ISO/date variation, distinguish datePublished from dateModified semantics, validate an author identity, or inspect publisher/logo fields. It does not test news sitemaps, paywall markup, article images, policies, Discover, Top Stories, indexing, or Google News inclusion.

Frequently asked questions

What does the News SEO Checker test?

It checks raw HTML for NewsArticle or Article schema, compares a schema publication year with a visible Published or Updated date when both exist, and reports whether schema contains an author property.

Does it check Google News eligibility?

No. Eligibility depends on policies, site quality, transparency, and systems this page-level raw-HTML audit cannot observe.

Why is date honesty informational?

The checker can compare only simple date patterns. If either the schema date or a recognizable visible date is missing, it cannot triangulate them and reports that limitation instead of guessing.

Does an author property prove editorial credibility?

No. It only confirms that an author field appears in schema. It does not validate the person, profile, expertise, byline visibility, or editorial process.

Does the tool inspect a news sitemap?

No. News sitemap inclusion and its two-day freshness window are outside this one-page audit.

Informazioni sullo strumento

Come funziona

Incolla HTML o recupera una URL pubblica. Analizza metadata editoriali e contenuto osservabile, quindi verifica ogni finding contro l’HTML o JSON-LD sorgente.

Limitazioni

  • La modalità URL legge HTML raw e non esegue JavaScript: dati editoriali aggiunti dopo il caricamento possono mancare.
  • I segnali non garantiscono idoneità nelle superfici news, accuratezza, freschezza o distribuzione.

Domande frequenti

Garantisce l’inclusione nei risultati news?

No. Controlla segnali osservati; idoneità e distribuzione dipendono da policy e sistemi esterni.
